Children’s Summer Art Camp 6 to 8 year olds
with Roberta Jones
Give your child the special gift of self-expression through creative artwork.
During this four day art camp children will learn a variety of media which include painting, mixed media and drawing. Children love making things, this outlet will foster more than just the creative aspects of development in children... it enhances open-ended thinking, co-ordination, special skills but more importantly it empowers your child's self-esteem while having fun.
The WOW factor: The best artwork from each session will be exhibited, on site, August 16 through August 28.
Session One: June 16 through June 19 Non-members $106; Members of MarinMOCA $90. Plus $25 materials fee to be paid when registering.

Photograph Your Own Artwork.
Nad Degani will present a one day workshop, June 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. covering the basics of camera and lighting set up (this class does not teach you how to use your camera).
Students need to bring in their own digital or film cameras along with the artwork or other material they would like to photograph. Make sure you have fresh batteries and memory cards (for digital cameras). Also covered will be photographing other photographs [such as older photos where negatives have been lost], documents and various methods of storing images as digital files, slides or color negative film.
Registration fee: Non-members $130; Members of MarinMOCA $115.

Creating in Clay
Randy Pottenger will conduct a weekly adult ceramic class

Be prepared to relax and enjoy yourself. The class is very flexible. If you’re new to clay, Randy will instruct on the basics requirements of the medium and demonstrate various hand building methods. If you are more experienced, you can start out working at your own pace. This class will give you an opportunity to try a variety of clays (Sonora white, sculpture mix and paper clay), methods of building, and ways of glazing to find out what your clay personality is. |

Mixed Media Approaches to Painting.
Painters Inez Storer and Jamie Brunson will lead a one-day workshop on using mixed media techniques to develop rich surfaces and imagery in your paintings. Saturday, June 20, 2009. 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Art of Digital Photography
In this innovative and fun class, students will learn how to create eye-catching photographs through exposure to exceptional photography, guided outdoor photo-shoots, learning self-critique and one-on-one mentoring. Students will create a 4x6 portfolio by the end of the session featuring their best, edited pictures. There will be a photography exhibit representing the most powerful imagery of each student to cap off the class!
Cool factor: Walk away with a professional portfolio of your finest work and a finale of the best imagery captured in a photography exhibition on site, during the first two weeks in August.
Students to provide their own camera, including memory card and batteries.
Instructor: Katherine Leonard, M.S.
Katherine Leonard is a seasoned creative professional who has worked in the dynamic arena of commercial and art photography in New York City since 1995. Having served as both agent and producer to internationally known photographers, Ms. Leonard has traveled the globe to produce and art direct photography assignments and exhibitions from New York to Paris.
Since the summer of 2006, as part of her Master of Science degree in Psychology from Dominican University, Katherine developed and continues to teach, an innovative curriculum using photography and art as a therapeutic and learning tool with at-risk adolescents. She conceived of and curated an exhibition of her students work at the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito, CA in the summer of 2008.
The Marin Museum of Contemporary Art showcased her student’s photographs of the recent Paper, Rocks, Scissors exhibition, which featured the work of six emerging artists who are recent graduates of Master of Fine Arts Programs in the Bay Are

Roberta is an accomplished award winning artist that works with many different media to express her painting and drawing expertise and create her artistic expressions. She is a mother of two that home schooled her children and then attended UC Berkeley to ultimately graduate and receive her Bachelors Degree in Art.
Roberta has taught and continues to teach art to children, young men & women and the physically challenged using unique and creative curriculum's.
